Clinical Psychology Supervision

Katherine Bonaldi, Clinical Psychologist, is an AHPRA psychology board approved Supervisor and provides Supervision to Provisional Psychologists, Clinical Psychology registrars, General Psychologists and Clinical Psychologists. She has been experienced and passionate about providing supervision for 7 years. She enjoys helping supervisees reach their potential and requirements for qualification and endorsement. Katherine also enjoys helping seasoned qualified Psychologists to honour their strengths, build on weakness, maintain longevity and love of the profession long-term.

Katherine regularly updates her knowledge and skills with professional development in supervision. She has worked as a Clinical Psychologist for over 15 years and has expertise in adult complex trauma conditions but also has experience in a wide range of mental health problems. She has worked in hospital systems and currently private practice. She has training and experience in comprehensive diagnostic and treatment assessments. The therapies she practices are CBT, trauma-informed CBT, Cognitive processing therapy for trauma, DBT, Schema therapy, ACT, Compassion Focussed Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing and Parenting Skills Therapy. She has experience in individual therapy, group therapy and family therapy, for adolescents and adults.

Katherine aims to create a safe, reflective, and encouraging space for supervisees to explore their own therapeutic style and professional identity. She is responsive and strengths based. Supervision provides a debriefing opportunity to manage the stress and complexity of the profession and opportunity to address any transference (feelings from therapy) or counter transference (outside issues that impact what is in the therapy room). Supervision also provides a space to celebrate the highlights and progress supervisees may see within themselves professionally and clients. Katherine is open to feedback and for people to bring questions, cases and professional issues to sessions.

She aims to assist supervisees to meet their own specific goals to meet core competencies required with AHPRA: knowledge of the discipline, exploring and dealing with any ethical dilemmas, comprehensive psychological assessment, measurement and formulations, exploring therapy interventions, research and evaluation, professional communications and  working with clients from diverse ages and groups.
